How do I export from EDSAS and Import into Sentral?

Schools are required to update Sentral with EDSAS data after major data changes, such as new enrolments, updated contact details and updated custody for existing students.  Follow the instructions below on how to do this.

Prerequisites

Sentral Administrator level access required.

Instructions

The first step is to create an export file for EDSAS data, followed by importing the data into Sentral.

To export the files from EDSAS
  1. Open Edlink.
  2. Select Export Reports.
  3. Select Export Data for Sentral.
  4. Read the Message
  5. Retrieve your files.
Note: If the export routine is missing from Edlink, try REPLINK2000 using the above steps.

Importing the EDSAS export files into Sentral
  1. Login to Sentral and select the Setup cog.
  2. Choose Data synchronisation.
  3. In the Edsas upload section (right side), browse and select the 4 Sentral files from your network share.
  4. Select Upload.
  5. Confirm that the file timestamp has updated.
  6. Select Synchronise Now. The data will be updated in Sentral.

Additional Information

Sentral can be setup with an automated fetch routine to extract these 4 files from a curriculum network share every morning. If the staff prefer to manually export the data to a file share in the afternoon or the technician can setup an automated data dump routine, the Sentral data can be updated daily.

To do this, Sentral would require a full system file path and credentials to authenticate against the path, the school will need to ensure the export files are updated via the file path rather than the upload screen.
