Timetable Syncing to Sentral – Rollover Information for new year
Sentral interfaces and synchronises with a number of different timetable packages available. Below are some guidelines and information regarding new year rollover, and ensuring your timetable data is setup in Sentral Timetables correctly.
Edval
To setup Edval for the new school year, you need to publish the new timetable structure for this year before the timetable will sync and display in Sentral. Sentral will show a warning within the Timetables module until you do this. This operation is handled entirely within Edval by completing the following steps:
From now on, sync from Edval as you would normally.
SchoolEdge
SchoolEdge Timetable software pushes data ot Sentral via a WebAPI. The API is called LISS.
To setup SchoolEdge for the new school year, you need ot publish the new timetable strucutre for this year before the timetable will sync and display.
- The Sentral URL to Use - if the school has an external web address to Sentral e.g. https://web1.schoolps.nsw.edu.au, then the URL to input into SchoolEdge would be https://web1.schoolps.nsw.edu.au/rcp/liss OR Server Hostname: web1.schoolps.nsw.edu.au
- The User Account for Use - Any Sentral user account that has administrator-level permission in Sentral Timetables module.
First Class
You do not need to take any action for rollover unless you have changed the name of the database you publish to from within FirstClass.
If the database name has changed (e.g. FC2013 to FC2014) then please notify our helpdesk with the new database name. Otherwise, no action is required beyond your usual syncing process.
Sentral Timetable Spreadsheet (.XLSX)
There is no process required for rollover with the Sentral Timetable spreadsheet. If you are uploading the spreadsheet via the Data Synchronisation web interface, you can continue to do so per normal; if it is on a file share, you only need to contact us if the path to the spreadsheet has changed.
If you would like a clean template for this year, please contact us.
MAZE Timetable
Sentral should automatically pick up your CURRENT_QUILT from the SI table, however some schools with multi-campus setups or off-grid glasses may require a manual update to the new quilt. If your timetable data appears to be updating (look at the Last Synchronised time), but is showing last years timetable, you may be one of these schools – please contact us with the new current quilt name and we can check this for you.
All Other Timetable Packages
Unless the path for your timetable exports have changed, you do not need to contact us.
Sentral will start reading the new timetable from the location you had previously had configured.
Please note that if your timetable structure has changed and you are using Attendance PxP (Period by Period roll marking), you will need to go into Attendance PxP à Setup à Period and re-import your timetable structure before school term resumes.
