Part One - Export Data from Cases

Part 2 – Importing Attendance Data into Sentral
Open a new browser tab or window and use it to login into Sentral.
NOTE: Absences imported into Sentral from CASES 21 CANNOT be edited in Sentral. The data is provided so that an entire year’s data of a student attendance can be viewed and exported for the Reports module and other purposes.
- Open Cases21
- Choose Utilities and Click on Export Data
- Choose ‘Export data from the database”
- Choose New Format
Format Name: Sentral Export Attendance
Description: Sentral Export Attendance
- Click Next and the following screen is displayed.
- Tick Reports and click Next.
- Browse to 'U' drive (or another drive you can access) and Save the file.
- Create a folder called Sentral.
- Make sure this file export is going to the folder called Sentral you just created
- Type in the filename as sentral-attendance.csv (NOTE: ensure it is .csv not .txt). eg \\........\sentral\sentral-attendance.csv
- Click on Next.
- Click the SQL button to the left of the SQL box. Now copy the sql statement that is provided by Sentral Education (perform Part Two below to obtain the SQL statement) into the screen that has been opened
Part 2 – Importing Attendance Data into Sentral
Open a new browser tab or window and use it to login into Sentral.
- Go to Attendance > Attendance Setup.
- Click on Import Absences and define the correct start and end dates for the absences you are importing and click on the Generate SQL and Import button.
- Highlight all the text in the grey area and copy.
- Go back to the Cases screen, delete existing data and paste the SQL query
- Click the apply button and confirm changes
- Click Next
- Click Finish
- Run Query and Save
- Choose the Sentral file and click Run Export
- Confirm if asked to Save the file
- Go to Attendance > Attendance Setup > Import Absences and select the file you saved in Part 1 and click on the Import button.
