Edval Daily Configuration

Note: If daily changes are being made in Edval Daily only, you only need to sync Edval Daily to Sentral. A sync from Edval is not required.

Note 2: In the case you do make changes in Edval Timetable and Edval Daily, sync Edval Timetable to Edval Daily first before syncing Edval Daily to Sentral.

The following process will guide you through pushing Edval Daily timetable data and daily variations directly from Edval to your Sentral system through LISS synchronisation.

Step 1: Open Edval Daily via my.edval.education

  • Select Daily > Synchronise
  • Select 'Add sync system'
  • Select 'Sentral' as the System

Step 2:  Enter configuration details

• Please enter your corresponding Sentral Server IP Address or Server Hostname: ie. https://superschool.sentral.com.au
• Fill in an admin Sentral Username
• Fill in the corresponding Password
• Click Test Connection
o If the Test comes back Unsuccessful you’ll need to check and ensure that the IP or username and password are correct.
o If the Test comes back Successful, then your connection has been established and you can save your configuration details.

Step 3: Syncing Edval Daily with Sentral

• Select Sentral from Sync configs
• Choose one of the following
o Basic sync, select sync date range and press 'Sync'
o Advanced sync, select sync date range, which data you would like to sync and press 'Sync'

NOTE: Please keep the dates within 1 – 2 weeks otherwise it may cause a memory error and crash the sync this depends on the amount of information processed by the system.

From this point forward, you will only need to do this if you need to remove or add certain options to sync with Sentral
.

In Sentral, you can check to see if the syncing from Edval to Sentral has worked. Allow for a few minutes for the syncing to occur.

Step 7: Navigate to Sentral Timetables module

As a timetable administrator, you will see the timestamp of a successful sync on the top left of the screen.

For further details click on the Publishing Details option

Step 8: On the Daily Variations Publishing section observe

• Last Time Published details showing timestamp of syncing of EdvalDaily data

• Heatmap that displays the daily data available on Sentral on any day for the year.
(green = daily data available | greyed out = daily data unavailable)
