How to export NAPLAN data and Import into Analysis - NSW Department of Education
Overview
Use the following steps to export 2024 NAPLAN data from Scout and import into Sentral Analysis.
Prerequisites
Access to Scout.
NSW Department of Education school.
Administration level access to Analysis Setup.
Instructions
To export Naplan data from Scout:
Choose Student Class and reports.
Select Class report and then Student results table.
Choose your school from the School list.
Select the Assessment year of 2024 from the list.
Choose All in the Domains list.
Select the More options icon and choose Export Data.
Select Summarized Data.
Select CSV as the file format.
Select Export to download.
Use this NSW Department of Education link to view report explanations, videos and supporting resources for NAPLAN Scout reports.
The valid output of the CSV export requires the following headers.
Student name - SRN
Assessment
Domain
Participation type
Scaled score
School name
Proficiency level
To Import the NAPLAN data into Sentral Analysis:
From Sentral Dashboard, under Insights select Analysis.
Select Setup and then Analysis Setup.
Select Import.
From the test type select National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NSW Scout).
Select the Calendar Year of 2024.
In Drop files here or click to upload space, drag, and drop the exported CSV file.
When the upload is complete, select Upload Test data (top right).
Navigate to Imported Files (Left menu) and locate the NAPLAN import.
Select Set options and choose the School year.
Select the Link icon to confirm the students are matched.
For students with the No Student Match Found in the Matched Student column, click on the No Student Match Found link then search for the student name and select.
Select Import for Matched Students.
