What is the difference between cancelling and voiding a fee?

If there is a payment against a fee, then the Cancel Fee option will create a credit for the value of the payment and remove the fee, as well as change the status to Voided.
For more, see the section called Cancel Fees in the Finance for NSW - DoE - User Guide

If there has been no payment against a fee that you want to cancel, then the status will be updated to Voided.

The image below shows the credit. This can be used to offset against outstanding fees or refunded if necessary.
