Estimated Bank Deposit Date

Sentral sends real time payment details through to SAP. For reconciliation purposes, SAP needs to know when the school intends to deposit the funds in the DoE bank account for each payment received.

When receipting a manual payment, one of the values that you will be asked to enter is the Estimated Bank Deposit date. We capture this value on the Enter Payment Details screen for Cash, Cheque, and Money Order payments

To save users having to select the date every time they enter a payment, Sentral allows users to set a default date. This can be done by ticking the "Set Estimated Bank Deposit Date" as the default date" checkbox on the Enter Payment Details screen. This will set the current payment's Estimated Bank Deposit Date as the default value for subsequent payments.

Schools can edit the current default under

1. Finance module select Setup
2. Choose Finance Setup from the dropdown
3. Select End of Day Banking
4. Select the existing date to open calendar
5. Make your date selection and Save.

The Default Estimated Bank Deposit Date is cleared after the specified date has passed. The next person to receipt a payment the following day will be required to enter an Estimated Bank Deposit Date for that payment, and will have an opportunity to set that date as the new default.

If the funds are not deposited on the estimated banking date set, this may result in a
red dot appearing in SAP and delays in processing to clear the red dot.
