How do I publish my Sentral Calendar to the Student and Parent Portal?

Sentral Calendars can be shared to the Student and Parent Portal. There are two areas within Sentral that require setup to make this possible, Sentral Calendars and Student and Parent Portal. 

Prerequisites

Administrator level access to Calendars and Portal Setup. 

Instructions

To share a Sentral Calendar to the Student and Parent Portal:
  1. Navigate to Sentral Calendars.
  2. Select the Calendar to share.
  3. Select Preferences (Top right).
  4. In View Privileges, select Open: Anyone from the list. Anyone who has the URL for the Calendar (both Staff, Parents and Students) will be able to view the calendar.
  5. Save your changes.
  6. Copy the URL of the Calendar to your clipboard - sample: Global Calendar: <<calendar URL>>.
  7. Go to Portal Console.
  8. Select Setup and choose Portal Console Setup.
  9. Select School Applications from the General menu.
  10. In the Manage School Applications section, select Add application.
  11. Complete the Name, Category and Description fields as applicable. Paste the Calendar URL copied above into the URL field.
  12. Select the Yes/No toggles for Dashboard options to display or hide.
  13. Select Save.

Once you have completed the above steps, the calendar will be accessible via drop-down on the applicable Student and/or Parent Dashboards applied. 

Additional Information

Each individual calendar can have different visibility preferences set. For example, for Staff Calendars set to only allow access for either Private or Shared access pertaining to BOTH Edit and View, then only Staff will be able to modify/view entries on that calendar.
