How do I print my student reports as a booklet ?

This is one that often confuses people. as there are so many options and a few moving parts to get it to print as expected. If you are printing by class, or by an entire cohort, it can be fiddly to get setup correctly. 

Important to Note:
Requires Administrator access to Sentral Reports.
An A4 booklet requires printing to A3 paper. Otherwise reports will appear as an A5 booklet.

The easiest way is to do as follows:
  • In Academic Reports >  Academic Reporting Setup  > Layout > Report Templates
  • Click the Details button next to the relevant template
  • Under Print Layout select Booklet
  • Scroll down the page and click the Save button. 
This will generate the reports PDF file as a booklet, but without some further changes it will not print as expected.
  • Open the file in Adobe Reader
  • You need to set Adobe Reader's print options to 
  • Select Multiple pages per sheet, and
  • 2 sheets per page
Under the properties of your printer, set
  • Select Print on both sides, and
  • Flip on the short edge
  • Relevant Paper size and tray (If not printing to default paper size)
There are also a number of other ways to do it, but may require latest version of Acrobat reader, or other third party pieces of software. Please contact the Sentral Helpdesk if you require further information.

Sentral reports has 3 different Print Layout options.
Portrait and landscape are self explanatory, but Booklet and Back to Back can get a little confusing.
We have created some templates for you, to assist in getting the print settings correct for your particular printer. Each of thse presents the same format that Sentral reports will create the PDF file in.

Once, you get the ordering correct using these samples, your Student Academic Reports should print as desired, provided your settings match the test printout.
