How do I update the Email Teachers function from a Student Profile

There is a button on the top right hand corner of every Student's profile that allows you to email his or her teachers in one go. There are a few moving parts to this, the staff members email account needs to be properly configured, staff properly linked to your administration system, and timetables also properly linked.

Important to note
Site wide Administrator access is required to make the necessary changes.
If you change a users email address, you may also need to change it in your "Administration" system - ie OASIS, Maze, SAS etc.

Step 1
The first step is to make sure Sentral staff accounts are linked with your administration system.

Step 2
Ensure email addresses are assigned to users under: 
  • Sentral Setup Cog > Manage User Accounts
  • Edit User 
  • Ensure Email: field populated correctly
Step 3
Ensure Teacher Mapping is Enabled. In Timetables
  • Timetables Setup > Settings
  • Ensure drop-down reads 'Disable Mapping' (Enabled)
Step 4
Ensure Timetable ID's are linked to Data Layer Staff member. In Timetables
  • Timetables Setup > Teacher Mappings 
  • Link staff using lookup fields aligned with each staff member in the list
Once all above have been updated, run a Synchronise Now from within Timetables

Ensuring staff are correctly linked to the Staff ID is also relevant to:
Reports - auto assign staff
Markbook - sync staff
Profiles - email teacher
Wellbeing - notifications
Dashboard - ttable/class widgets
Portal - my classes/homework
