Why do I have Home Numbers importing into Mobile Number fields?

The reason behind this is due to the Phone Number Import method being used pointing to the 'Mobile' field, rather than Automatic.  Within some data layers, the 'mobile' field does not necessarily hold the Mobile Number for a contact and as such, Sentral Messaging has an option to automatically detect mobile numbers in any contact number field beginning with '04xx'.  

To ensure you are importing the correct number for SMS Messaging, go to: 
  • Go to Messaging > Messaging Setup > General Settings
  • Select Use Only Mobile Field
  • If this option is set to no then Sentral will fall back to the work and home phone fields if no mobile number is found in the mobile field.
  • Phone Number Order - select the order sequence for phone numbers
  • Which number to use as the contact numbers. For NSW DET schools using ERN, the Phone 1 maps to the Work phone number, and Phone 2 maps to the Mobile phone number field. Sentral will use the first phone number that starts with an "04xx" prefix.
To force the system to run an update, go to:
  • Sentral Setup Cog > Data Synchronisation >  Click Synchronise Now.
