How do I ensure Messages are sent to a Non Residential family?
1. The Preferred contacts priority (Non-Residential Family) needs to be set. This is fine 'as is', but if it's on Do Not Contact you won't be able to send messages to any non-residential parents:
2. Ensure the contact is correctly linked to the student(s) for sending:
- navigate to the Address Book and search for the Student(s)
- click on the Student's name to Edit their Contact Details View
Note: each student does have to be managed individually. While this scenario is relatively simple, you can modify the students in a family individually to have a non-residential parent receive messages for one student but not the other, if that is a requirement for any family at your school. - Make sure that the Preference dropdown is set to Custom, and that both parents are ticked
This will ensure that the non-residential parent/carer receives all communications along with the primary residential parent/carer.
