How do the different calculation options work?

Sentral Markbook has a three different scenarios/options when creating calculations. Below is a description, details, and some things to be aware of when using each of them.

No scaling
  • Do not calculate weighted adds for students with blank columns
  • This does not allow running totals for students with blank marks. 
Treat as Zero: 
  • This treats blank columns as a zero mark
Skip and Scale:
  • This will skip the blank columns and scale the result by the maximum mark of the column.
  • This option will also remove blank marks from weighted adds, which will reduce the total mark of the add compared to students who dont have blank marks, so it will scale the result by the maximum mark of the column
