Exporting Attendance Data to CASES21 (VIC)

In Victoria, you are required to store all student attendance information, regardless of what system the school uses to track and store that data.

Important to Note
This requires Administrator level access to Sentral Attendance

From the main Attendance screen, click on Export Absences

If you have been using Sentral Attendance from the beginning of the year, then choose the first radio button option “ Export absences for this year”
If you have started midway through a year or Term we suggest you choose the “export absences for period. Select the first day as the day you began using Sentral attendance.

This will export, and ask you to save, a csv file. Save to a suitable location e.g. C drive or My Documents, remembering where you have saved it.
If saving to the same location each time OVERWRITE the previous file.
Do not open this file in excel or any 3rd party product as it may corrupt the file.

Your CSV file of attendance data is now ready to import into Cases21. Use the import facility in Case21 to import this file.

Import into CASES21 via Attendance | Import/Export Data | Import data from ERM Systems

Please Note
: The import procedure may change without the knowledge of Sentral, as Cases21 is managed and maintaned by a department team.

Notes / Related FAQ
Your network is split up into a number of different segments. The 2 relevant segments are admin and curriculum.

Sentral sits on your Curriculum network, but CASES21 can ONLY read from the Admin network. The export files have to be copied to your Admin network for this process to work. Your local IT technician / support person can assist you with this process, and can advise where this folder is located.
