How do I sync timetable data from Edval to Sentral?
Sentral will no longer be required to be notified for synchronisation of your Edval data with Sentral. The following process will guide you through the process of pushing Edval timetable data directly from Edval to your Sentral system through LISS Synchronisation.
Step 1: Open Edval
• Select File (from menu)
• Select Sync with system
• Select Configuration
• Select Sync with system
• Select Configuration
Step 2: On the synchronisation configuration screen
• Click on a drop-down
• Select Sentral
• Click Configure
• Select Sentral
• Click Configure
Step 3: On the connection tab
• Please enter your corresponding Sentral Server IP Address or Server Hostname. ie. superschool.sentral.com.au
(no need to have http or https)
• Ensure SSL is Off or On
(SSL should be On if your sentral web address contains https. Otherwise, leave it Off)
• Fill in an admin Sentral Username
• Fill in the corresponding Password
• Click Test Connection
o If the Test comes back Unsuccessful you’ll need to check and ensure that the IP or username and password are correct.
o If the Test comes back Successful, click OK to return to Main Menu
(no need to have http or https)
• Ensure SSL is Off or On
(SSL should be On if your sentral web address contains https. Otherwise, leave it Off)
• Fill in an admin Sentral Username
• Fill in the corresponding Password
• Click Test Connection
o If the Test comes back Unsuccessful you’ll need to check and ensure that the IP or username and password are correct.
o If the Test comes back Successful, click OK to return to Main Menu
For First TIme synchronisation
Step 4: Have Edval opened
• Select File (from menu)
• Select Sync with system
• Select Sync now
(keyboard shortcut press Ctrl + K)
• Ensure Sentral is checked
• Press Ok
• Select Sync with system
• Select Sync now

• Ensure Sentral is checked
• Press Ok
Step 5: From the two tabs at the top
• Select Manual
In the Edval <-- Sentral section
• Ensure all options here are unselected
In the Edval --> Sentral section
• Ensure all options here are selected
With the From Date setting
• Ensure that the dates are as per your timetable cycle
(generally, 2 weeks are used per cycle)
Select Go to initiate sync
In the Edval <-- Sentral section
• Ensure all options here are unselected
In the Edval --> Sentral section

With the From Date setting
• Ensure that the dates are as per your timetable cycle

Select Go to initiate sync
NOTE: Please keep the dates within 1 – 2 weeks otherwise it may cause a memory error and crash the sync this depends on the amount of information processed by the system.
From this point forward, you will only need to do this if your timetable structure, or bell-times are modified.

Step 6: Have Edval open
• Select File (from menu)
• Select Sync with system
• Select Sync now
(keyboard shortcut press Ctrl + K)
• Select Sync with system
• Select Sync now
(keyboard shortcut press Ctrl + K)
• Ensure Sentral is checked
• Press Ok
• Press Ok
Step 7:
Ensure the Date range is correct
Press the Go Button
On Sentral, you can check to see if the syncing from Edval to Sentral has worked. Just remember that the syncing at some times might take minutes so you might need to wait.
Step 8: Navigate to Sentral Timetable Module
As a timetable administrator, you will see the timestamp of a successful sync on the top left of the screen.
For further details click on the Publishing Details option
Step 9: On the LISS Publishing Section observe
• Different Publish Calls of Edval data being sync’d to Sentral
• Last Time Published details showing timestamp of syncing
• Colour code status on whether anything is out-of-date since the last sync
(red = out-of-date)
