Can I receive inbound SMS messages?
For absence SMS, all school can receive a response.
Step 1
- Messaging > Messaging Setup > SMS Settings
- Any absence SMS replies received Messaging inbox
- You can organise your inbound messages and change their statuses between Direct Message and Response, in Messaging module.
- See direct messages: Messaging > Received Messages > Inbox
- See all responses: Messaging > Outbound Messages > View Messages
- If any absence messages have fallen into the Received Messages Inbox, you'll need to tag this message as a response to absence message. This opening the Inbox, clicking on the message, and on the right-side of screen will see a button Set as Response. Then press the Save button. You'll now be able to see the SMS response under:
- Attendance > Notifications > Responses
Note: For schools with a Dedicated Number, Parents can send SMS at any time and do not require an initial message to be sent. Schools without a Dedicated can ONLY link absences responses to an attendance record not an inbound direct message.
